New Challenge for me

I am planning on driving to northern Indiana ( I am from Terre Haute area) to try my luck at perch and walleye fishing on the 14 of this month. I have never fished any of the lakes in that area, nor have i fished for either species through the ice. I have been hard-water fishing in this area for 20 years but i would like to catch something other then gills and crappie for a change. If anyone would like to give me a few tips they would be greatly appreciated.

Good Luck, I been fishing here in Northern IN for 30 yrs. and I been only gettin one here and their the last week or so. It's bee tuff around here.

Right now i am planning on hitting wawasee or maxiinkuckee. Unless someone else has a better recommendation. This is a building block for me, so fish or no fish, i will learn form my success or my mistakes. Thanks again.

For Walleye Tim,  I would take 69 North all the way till you hit Saginaw Bay!  No there's a real Walleye fishery.

I think that you have chose 2 great lakes to give it a go. Just keep in mind these are large bodies of water. Ive caught a ton of perch this year and maybe 20 keepers. Just been that way. GL2U

Yes , if your driving that far might as well make it worth it.Never fished the Max but Wawasee you can't go wrong.
