Just wondering why everytime our Government spends money we never see any assistance in our sport. It's 99% funded by the users of the recreation, those who buy the license's,rental, camping, boat, and other fees. Sure seems to me you would stimulate the economy by increasing our hatchery capacity and stocking more lakes. This would create a trickle down affect to all the service industries, boat mfg, bait shops, motors, gear, camping,etc.. and of course the tourist industry as well. Would not be a temporary job to build a bridge but a lasting job to provide a continued income and a resource for all to enjoy.
you liberals all blame everything on Bush, are you going to blame him when Mr. Obama takes all your gun rights away and turns this country into the european union.
It seems like Outdoorsmen (hunting, fishing etc.) are self supporting. I really dont know how the whole system works but overall I am happy with the way the money from fees etc. is used. We have great fisheries and great hunting and they seem to be improving.
His speech tonight will be comical. I hope the republican's yell LIAR about once every minute as he spews his socialist bulls*it.
99% of politicians are scum liars. Do you think that these people have anything in common with the average working American? Doesnt matter Dem or Rep, or Indep. They take our $, laugh, lie, cheat, steal, and just keep digging. They are ALL out of touch with the general public. These people are wealthy and connected. Organized crime. Dont argue over politics because they all s&*^!
We should have a windwall of improvements in the upcoming years, because Indiana sold more fishing licences this year than ever before. Meaning in a bad economy, people have more time on there hands and want to get out of the house, so they head for the water or woods. When more people are working, we will have less funds, but less pressure, even though the casual fisherman doesn't do much harm to the fish population. Personally, Indiana is playing catch up to places like Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin who have already realized the importances of fishing tourism. Lake Erie is loaded with fish, therefore it's part of most folks "Lake Heaven Chain O' Lakes" and through h**l and high water, they're going to make a trip to Erie once a year, increasing the number of $$ flowing into the state for hotels, gas stations, camping and bait store, etc. Lake Michigan also draws alot of folks from other states in search of salmon and trout, but not Indiana, because who wants to stay/camp in Gary and Hammond? Indiana has streamlined alot of things such as, online lic. purchases, and they seem to have alot of projects to make the hunting and fishing friendlier for us, but we still have a long way to go. I think we need more conservation officers first and foremost, I run into "green pants" three times a year, and I fish 150 days if not more. Just my opinion.
