Crappie Fishing Friday Near Bangor
« on: Jan 07, 2010, 03:20 PM »
I am planning on fishing for some crappie tomorrow (Friday) afternoon near Bangor, probably Hermon Pond if anyone wants to join me.  First time fishing for crappie through the ice, so don't except to catch any.  :P

Also, I remember a thread that had a list of most of the bodies of water in Maine with crappie, does anyone know where that went?

FLAG! haha just kidding

I went down to the sporting goods store and got a new rod and reel for my wife.....pretty good trade, don't ya think?

Ketchup and grease instead of catch and release

"Hey, ya gotta flag, oh, wait, it went back down."

I haven't been on Hermon Pond for years, but when I did go I went halfway down and about in the middle from the west side. It's out in the channel and was a little deeper, but we caught a lot of crappies. I don't know how thick the ice, but take care, that's where the water is moving.

The ice was great when I was there, 10 inches.  I can only assume it is even better now.

Also I am probably going to be there tomorrow (Sat 15 Jan) with a large group.  Probably test out the new 6 man Farbill pop-up, so if you are on the lake and see it swing by.
