its a pretty good size lake, many diffrent fish, walleye, bass(small, large, rock), perch, crappie, gills, northerns, tigers, easy to fish- many parking spots...its a good place to fish, i enjoy it there, i would say its worth the trip, it has a good 7 inches of ice on it as of 1-2-10

I'm new to Delta Lake too.  I mainly fish Oneida Lake.  I plan on trying Delta Lake out this coming weekend.  The forecast is for cold temps throughout the week so ice conditions should be great!  Maybe I'll see you guys out there.  Pulling a Frabill flip.

Go to the reports and conditions board it gets pretty steady reports. Oh, and to the best of my knowledge there ar no Tigers in Delta.

THANKS !!

I'm curious ..Where did you read or hear that ? It's not listed...
I'd just think the no brainer solution would be to drop the creel/size limit on them and let the anglers take care of them.. I wonder what would make them think Tigers are going to impact them.. Too much other bait in the lake if you ask me...

I know what you guys are talking about.  I drove by Delta the other day on the way to Woods Valley and noticed the soft water.....bummer,........usually one of the first places to find good ice.....I think last year I was on Delta well before Oneida......I know I was on Oneida last year DEC 30th so were way behind last year......Where is the ICE!!!

I was on Delta December 16th last year...I was coming home for winter break and noticed ice so I fished it no bait just jigs and hammered the perch. Go north to find decent ice I have been out three times this season.

Old Forge area. Look at the area on google earth and find the smaller lakes with access. I stopped by 4th lake and it was working hard at the 4th Lake Access/Alger Island the ice was around 2 inches with open water still. I am hoping delta gets going soon I would love to go get some crappie.

I have been working up by the dam.  Yesterday there was some ice today it was all open water.  I will be heading up again tomorrow.  I was talking to the guy that controls the dam and it doesn't look good for ice anytime soon.

I work with the guy that runs the dam.He said back in the summer there wasn't going to be much water in the lake this winter.

I can't imagine them lowering the water past the average of what 4-6 feet? That would put a hurting on the water table.

They can bring it down as much as they want in the fall/winter. They use the excuse of spring run off, which there is a lot of, but the main reason is to maintain the water level in the barge canal. I figure the water level will be about the same as last year. Got cold last night and with the wind we had to may be getting close to locked up
