I may be wrong but the Fl8 is old.. i'm talking 20 years old technology. Maybe its just me but I would not pay that cash for something that old. I would pay $200 for an FL 8 SE but not the original fl8
It would still do the job though.

i have a fl8 thats old and if i were to sell it it would be 150.00 (NOT 4 SALE)
yea its old but thats been the going rate for years for working units with clean brushes and bright lights...

I sold mine last year for $200.  It was an old FL8, but I knew the owner had it out less than 10 times before I got it.  Also I had it on an Ultra Pack, new battery, new ice ducer, and a soft case.  All that added in I thought $200 was fair.

Is it an SLT or SE. The FL8SE with Genz pack is still being sold by vexilar. The SLT and Hondex/Sitex Fl-8s are the old ones.

I found a FL8-se on a Genz box w/battery and 9º transducer, but no charger for $100 on Craigslist last year.  It was covered in dust and after I cleaned it up it looked and performed like new.

I wouldn't give that much for it since it's an SLT.  My first offer would be no more than $100, and if he balks, let him know that the SLT model is several years old.

I bought an FL-8 off of eBay and paid more than that.  It came with a carrying case and battery level indicator though. I couldn't be happier with it.  If you don't like it you should be easily be able to sell it again and make your money back.
