    have been looking for a slip bobber style rig for fishing crappie. anybody know how these bobbers work, and how to rig them up. i have always used fixed bobbers with minnows with good sucess but would like to be able to use slip bobber like these to be able to reel in fish, any suggestions would be greatly appreceated. thanks fellas for the advice.     They work great, I have used them for years. They are super easy to clear the ice from, and you can take them off without removing your jig.

    The string is your slip knot, just like a slip bobber.   They work well, and as stated you can remove them from the line without cutting the jig off.   Best bobber I have for fishing with minnows.

    I used to use a few different types of bobbers and 2 years ago I switched exclusively over to spring bobbers. Even with minnows they work great.  I try not to fish in my shanty unless it's unbearable outside.  The slip bobbers I was using wanted to freeze up.  Not an issue with a spring bobber. Good Luck.

    i just baught a pack of the bobbers today from big r and rigged one up for shigs and tiggles and now have them figured out no worries thanks for your advice fellas it is much appreciated. fish on

    They work great.  Probably the best thing about them is being able to cut them to different sizes.  This really helps when it's windy.  Cut it short to keep it down within the hole and ice free.
