Well I was just sitting hear dreaming about ice as it got to 24 degrees last nite (YEAH!!!).  When I had to go and see when I first got out on the ice last season.  It happened to be 12-1-08.  I was wondering when everyone else out there got to get out for there first time last year.  I figured it would make a interesting post with all the different areas of the world on this cool site!!  f-n-f

I was out on the ice last year on December 20.  I could have gotten out on the 13th of December but I was a little too much of a chicken.... Whistling

11/22/08 on about 2 1/2".  I've got a pic of my FL-18 on the ice and it looks like it's floating.  The pic is dated, but I don't think I can post pics yet because I'm too new.

Dec. ninth for me (southern PA), but I had to drive over two hrs. Well worth it though. Grin I know guys were fishing some higher elevation lakes the last week of Nov., but I pretty much need four in. to feel safe. 2.5 in. and I look like this. Shocked

Last day of deer season last year, whatever day that was, late November.  I could have got out a week earlier, but I "had" to hunt deer.

December 6, 2008 in Northern Indiana, which was WAY early for us from what I've been told.

Target this year:  Thanksgiving weekend in Michigan or December 5th in Northern Indiana again.

Friday after Thanksgiving on about 3 inches. Hopefully around the same time this years but the weather is going to have to turn cold soon for that to happen.

Last 3 years it has been within 2-3 days of thanksgiving.  Just have to hit those small lakes high in the mountains.

Got the lake all to my... wow that waters cold!

Got ice up at my cottage (Northern Michigan) on Thanksgiving night when it was like -30 degrees.  We got 1/2 to 3/4 inches of ice across the entire lake in 6 hours!  But we didn't get 5 inches of ice until December 20th.
