I fished shabbona in the sommer about 10 years ago befor i moved to Wis. but i have never ice fished it. I going to give it a try this year don't remember there being eyes in there, but thats great. Is there any size to them? Is that a pretty safe lake to move around on or do you have to worry about springs? Thanks again for the info.

Silver Lake in Blackwell Forest Preserve has northerns. I haven't fished there in 10 years but there's a guy on one  of the other boards posting about northerns on tip ups. I met him earlier this year and he seems straight up so I believe his reports. We use to do good along the weedlines with roaches 1' below the ice. It is a Dupage Lake and has a 2 line limit with DNR out there daily I hear.

If you're coming 88 get off 59 north and stop here. Home of Walt & Poppee of Custom Jigs and Spins. I believe they still sell bait

From 59 go east 0n 56 (Butterfield Road) Forest preserve & Lake on on the north(left) side. There used to be 2 bodies of water, Silver is the bigger of the 2.
