Team Gamefisher's 2009 season (pics)
« on: Mar 23, 2009, 02:28 PM »
Not a bad year for Team Gamefisher.  Got out about 15 +/- times, mostly around home with the family, wishing I had got out more like everyone else. We are so lucky to be able to live and raise our family's right here.  Did make it north once and east once.  Got to get something M-F one of these years so I can enjoy more outings. ;D  Biggest regret is not getting out more with Team Maine, hoping spring works out better in that regard.  Some random 2009 pics to share:

A great day on Tunk with three of my very best friends:

My daughter with her brooder brooktrout:

My son and I with our derby winning pike:

My nicest brown of the winter:

My nicest splake of the winter:

My daughter showing me up one day railing the splake and rubbing it in: ;D

The kids making Dad proud at the local children's derby:

Glad to be a part of Team Maine for sure and looking forward to seeing everyone at the banquet and on MFF.

Nice lookin season you had there!
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did so. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

Looks like a very good year to me, great to spend time with old friends on the northern lakes, lots of smiles on your kids faces, you have a great family there gf. I'm going to have to try for a pike one of these days, the size of those criiters is very impressive. Great bunch of pics.

Like many have said, the best part of your season was involving the children. I know as long as they have an interest in the outdoors, they won't be in trouble..... Nice pic's. and a great season.... ;D

That's the basket I'm throwing all my eggs into right there Bob and others.  Thanks to all for the nice comments.  I'm sure many will agree that these are not the same times for kids in which we grow up that we all enjoyed.  Life is definitely more complicated for all of us these days.  Trying to be "throw back" parents where teaching kids how to fish, hunt, boat, camp, making maple syrup, etc. are as important as any other life skill and hoping like heck it works. :)  So far, so good.  8)

Well said, the only time i dont worry about my boy is when he is outside enjoying mothernature and he is loving it...After he shot his 7 pointer 195lb buck this year he spends less time on the tv games and more time scouting for next year ;D
