46" Pike (even though it doesn't look it)
« on: Mar 16, 2009, 11:28 AM »
It turns out...my friend did not land the fish.  It was a friend fishing with him that did.  By the sound of the story, it was a group effort getting the fish through the hole.  ;D  Please be advised this picture has in no way been posted with the intent to promote the catch and release of pike in Maine waters.

There's the picture...  That fish was built!  (I don't know what it is, but those little plastic traps are the luckiest ones I've ever seen.  Especially with the pike!)

That's funny, I have some old plastic traps that seem to be my lucky traps as well. I thought I was the only one that thought I had lucky traps.

Awesome fish!  Hope it didn't come out of square...

I didn't think it looked 46" either.  I never actually saw the fish.  I've jsut had the picture and the guy taking the pictures story to go by. I will say..........he is extremely credible and has a lot of experience measuring fish. ;D
That's all I have for a story for now.  Maybe I'll have a picture of that thing on a scale for you on thursday. ::)

FORGET hog, that pike is a whale.  I agree it doesn't look like 46", but am willing to concede that is probably due to its 2' of girth ~ kinda skews the look.

Glad they put it back, but would have been nice to know if  any missing pets would have been found inside :o

No doubt that is a big fish. Pictures do lie, you can hold them the right way and make them look huge. It's in the angle and he is not holding it to make it look big. look at his left hand and his knee. He has it close to his body.

I could make that fish look like an alligator.  ;D ;D ;D

Is this any day or is this a set day? If this can be mid June I will bid 9 possibly 10. Also is this a keeper salmon or just a salmon to the boat?  8) 8)
