there is no way I could let this thread go by without my paying homage to the OCD persona within me.

I thought I had a bunch of jigs.Mine are in several boxes and I use a tackle bag I got from being a  B.A.S.S. member.I have so many jigs I've bought over the years and I started making my own and also tie some jigs too.

I went thru the summer last year just making lots of lures, now I think I have enough for a lifetime.  Those are in baggies though. my 'working lures are in various boxes that I also use during the summer.

Its real (reel?) cheap if you make your own.

yup, a guy can really save some money making his own jigs, but after you buy the lead melting pot and all the molds you will have a lot of money tied up into it. the powder paint i use is like 6 bucks for each color and i must have 25 diff ones now !  ;D but once you have all the stuff to make them you can make them for pennies a piece. the real key is too start by soldering the jigs onto ice blades you can buy, thats the cheapest way, and that is a good way to see if you really enjoy making them. i am trying to get some more people i know into it so we can do mold swaps and jig swaps... but i have given them so many free jigs that they have no need for the start up costs >:(

I already cast lead for reloading for my muzzleloaders, so that was not even an issue for me.  I purchased most of the ice blades and hooks online, and soldered in my spare time.  Harbor Freight has the basic colors (red, yellow, white, black) of powder paint, and the specialty ones I order online.

I use pimples, kast masters, halis and krokadiles in a few sizes and colors below trout flies in scud or nymph patterns and move a lot if needed

Amazing "collections".  I too thought I had a fairly extensive collection and had a tackle hoarding problem :)  Not anymore.

ps. Sorry for bringing this back, but HATE to see this one fall into the archives
