I am going nuts here waiting for ice!!  Wacko Hey Stevo hows the ice forming out your way I'm thinking of heading out to newdale to my uncles on monday and maybe check out some lakes in the area for safe ice or fishable  open water.... I'm thinking trout.

You might be out of luck, I was thinking the same thing the other day. I went down to the lake to toss in a pickeral rig by the dam and found enough ice that I couldn't toss a rock through it. I did manage to break a hole and it was about an inch and a half thick. Looked like the entire lake was iced up.

Not enough to get out on the lake but just enough to make me more pumped for ice fishing! Let me know if your out this way in the winter.

I was about 7 and I am 21 now, Rocky Pond with my brother. He had all the gear we caught fish all day and even had the truck on the ice. I also drooped the ice scoop down the whole and chased with my arm. haha

Several years ago, I bought a new Frabill Ranger XL Twin.  Very nice unit with padded swivel seats, the whole nine yards.  Within a couple of years however, we discovered that with all the junk we take and the age factor, it was wearing on us just to get it out on the ice because of the weight.  We don't use a 4 wheeler or a snowmobile, because of the places we usually go.  Last year we each bought a single man and we like them alot although we have to reach farther to pass the whiskey or tequilia flask, but what the heck.  My one man is the Clam Scout.  Great outfit, but after spending my first full day in the sliding seat, I ripped the whole thing out, mount and all.  I now use a high back camp chair with arm rests.  The whole thing works great in the Scout and I actually have more room in the tub for my gear.  I sold my Frabill a couple of weeks ago and took delivery of the new Clam Summit last week.  This thing is a full 6X8ft floor measurement and because it's a pop-up, the shoulder and head room is amazing.   It only weighs 30 lbs., so it should be a lot easier to carry, by splitting up the gear between our two Jet Sleds. We haven't had it on the ice yet, but it looks like we'll have plenty of room and save around 70 lbs of dragging weight.   Has anyone had a chance to use the Clam Summit?  If so, what do you think?

Hi all,

I was checking out the Northland website the other day and came across Bro's Bug Collection.

I liked the look of the Scud Bug, Bloodworm and Hexi Fly.

Which bugs in the collection do you all prefer or have used with some success ? Huh
