Tried to fish nags sunday after noon fell thru in about a foot of water and 4 feet of muck!

I'm trying to find some action to take a 7 year old to have some fun catching white bass ect.
I'm thinking of heading up to butte des morts sunday morning.Are they bitting off of sand pit?If so whats the best time?

Went out on Lake butte des morts today from about 11:00 to 12:30. I got about 10 bluegills using wax-worms along with 2 keeper perch. Was at sunset point on the North side of the lake. I'm guessing around 7 to 8 inches of ice. ATV's are driving around, but no cars.

Fished off of skipper bud's on saturday. caught lots of
little blue gills, very few keepers. 4" of ice.
