Ice is now very good on Machikanee. Can't say same for fishing. A couple of small bluegill and saw a decent northern landed on afternoon of 2-9.

Haven't fished out there probably in 3 years but one thing that you always had to make sure was your hook was always completely covered with the spike. The slightest bit of hook showing seemed to always turn them around. Had the best luck finding holes in the thick weeds and then drilling lots of holes in the area and just going from hole to hole to find some active fish. Good luck!

Was out last weekend from 10-4 and only caught 1-2 dozen keeper gills. Not qite sure how to fish them their. Was in about 6-7ft of water and was jigging with a tear drop and wax worm. Any ideas?
