My buds and i fish shep frequently. We may hit it this weekend or next. Keep me informed by posting here and i will do the same. Hey arley........done well on trout at laurel here and there.......some days better then others......keep me posted too and i will try to keep everyone in the area up to date on the spots me and my buds go to. We fish all over the state of pa. driving up from around the d.c. area and are looking forward to the coming season. Wish it would have started sooner though. MDPI......I shot you an e mail......respond if you get it and if not i will try shooting another one.

minimum 4" on Laurel Lake in Cumberland County. judging by the number of holes there were people on it yesterday.
Today I was out about 2 hours but no luck.tried maribou jigs, kastmasters and jigging rapalas.Lots of fun tho'.

Billy,I'm also a Md.hole puncher.A friend and I mainly fish Sheperd Meyers but would like to explore different lakes that are within easy driving distance.I went to check out Shep.Meyers on 12/29 and it has ice on the upper end all the way down to the neck down area about mid-lake.If the wind dies down,the rest goes fast.If you've never fished there,it's stocked with trout but in the past I've caught a ton of bull bluegills.Last year the bulls were m.i.a. but big honk'in y.perch were around.There are some slab crappie to be had but we've never been able to find a school of them.We move alot searching for active fish so if you see 2 guys with vexilars and a trail of holes behind, it's us.

What is the current ice thickness on oppossum as of this weekend? Is anyone keeping a close eye on it?

My friends and i fish pa. from md. all ice season long and we are chomping at the bit to get out on the ice. If you could keep me posted to and report your findings as much as possible i would also greatly appreciate it alot.

Steve,I live in Md.about 30 miles south of Hanover and I have been chomping at the bit to get on some ice ever since the ice left in feb.Where is this lake exactly? Any info. I can get is greatly appretiated.

We were out at the lake the other day to see how the ice was forming. It looks like there is a small 1 inch layer on the water. If the weather stays like it is and the wind isn't too strong, the ice will be hard enough to fish on in a week. I've spent a lot of this week getting the gear together.

The ice is still thick and we are still having pretty good luck. We were out a few times this week and cought some really nice trout. We caught a perch and a lot of bass. we even landed a few nice crappie. The fishing is still pretty good.

The ice is thick enough and the fish are biting. We caught three species of fish out of one hole. Our tip-ups were going off most of the day. I could barely start jigging until one of those flags went up. We landed some really nice trout, a few decent crappies, and even some largemouth bass. Lots of people were also having good luck out on the lake. We caught the majority of the fish with jigs. The ice is solid at about 5-6 inches. There is good fishing out on the lake so far.
