I got out for a few hours both days. Too bad they were the wrong hours...haha.
Heard the bite was on in the morning and got progressivly worse. Hung around till dark yesterday and no one caught squat. This guys fish finder was showing schools swimming by, but no takers. Are they for real?
*Didn't get the shack/tent up....too windy both days.

Noticed your last log in on the 12th,wondered if you out there, enjoy reading your reports. Talked to several guys on Beltzville over the weekend from down your way and said condition are not to good anymore. Is that true? You can check out b-ville as I try to keep a daily posting for those wondering about the conditions up my way. Also Mauch Chunk is only a couple of miles North of here, so I kinda know what's going on up there too!

They didn't stock the lake yet, but I managed to pull a 12" bow out a hole today! Taken on a tip up with only a waxie on a small hook, this fish was pretty colored up! I only hung out for a few hours with 5 tip-ups out and well, I was chillin' out in my truck with a close eye out for a flag! Ah, the beauty of having a parking lot right on the ice!

POSTED      : 18:33:43 02/06/2001
Me and my steelheadin' buddy hit the Run at approx. 11 am. until 4 pm. Missed two that were right up to the hole. Landed a nice healthy brown of about 13" and a nice pickerel of about 14". Three fish came on the tip-ups and one jigging. All the tip-ups were baited with small minnows. Jigging with a rap tipped with mealie. Ice was a mess! A foot of snow on top of 2 iches of slush, on top of 7-8" of ice does not make for a very dry outing, if ya know what I mean! Had the tent up only to get out of the wind. Had to shovel out a spot, and god forbid you'd then auger a hole......start bailing! Had fun though....if you see the flag, and hear "Get Him"...thats us.....come say "hi"!

went to the usual spot for a quick bite....and when I say "quick bite", I mean "Quick Bite". By the time I got to set up the 2nd tip-up, the flag of the first tip-up flew.....14" brownie.....set up the 3rd tip-up....2nd tip-ups' flag flew....fish-on....13" brownie.....rebaited....sat down to jig...missed two right away......then the bottom dropped out....not another bite for the duration. 4 hours of fishing, and all the action came in the first 15 minutes....go figure! Looking forward to this cold snap after these warm past few days.....

POSTED      : 11:59:48 01/26/2001
Was out on the ice by 7....had a flag up right away, but no customer on the other end. Sat for another 2 hours in the shanty with out so much as a bite, until....I got a nice one on the line with a sweedish pimple tipped with a "mousey"...he felt big, but he popped off within feet of the hole....didn't even get to see him....rats....waited for another 3 hours with no action and decided to call it a day. Heading up for a shot at cash money this weekend....big black (yote dog) is going down! (Hopefully my luck will be a little better in the woods than on the ice!)

Hit the hard-water for a quick jig after work today. Got there to find one other guy fishing and the wind to be howling at around 25-30 miles an hour across the lake! Didn't want to make a scene trying to set up the shanty in those kind of winds! I learned that leason the hard way a few trips back....... Anyhow....skunked again....1 bite to speak of, and when I went to break-down the tip-ups (I'm new to this technique) both of my minnows were gone.....just my luck... hope to get out again tomorrow before the coyote tournament this weekend.....all yotes will not be released.......

Hit the favorite trout haunt for another dissappointing day on the hard water. Fished from 9-4 with not so much as a bite. Saw two fish get caught all day. I don't know if they have lock-jaw or what! Shanty was cozy.

POSTED      : 19:04:35 01/01/2001
Well, spent the afternoon hours at Scotts Run jigging my rapala tipped w/ a waxie..also tried the smallest minnows I could find...nothing seems to be working for anyone. In the 3 hours I was there, I did not see a single fished pulled up! The wind was realitivly calm and the ice has amny clear spots still present...all the signs are pointing toward a great outing...except that the fish are not co-operating.... Oh well...maybe me and the kid will hit Hopewell tomorrow night for pan-fish....what have I come to??? Hey...ya gotta keep the kid interested, right? I heard some good reports coming from the "other French creek lake" so I guess I'll give it the ol' college try! Picked up a NICE Coleman heater tonight..can't wait to have a cozy shanty!
Oh yeah...anybody reading this?

4 1/2" of clear ice (for now)
State dropped 1800 trout in 3 weeks ago.
No fish to speak of yet, 2 outings (last night 3 1/2 hours 9-12pm.)(today 2-5 pm.) Saw a few being brought up during the evening bite but other than that...slow... Anyone ever have any luck fishing for trout at night through the ice?
