I fish Otisco quite a bit in the winter. For good catches and a nice place to warm up in the afternoon, go out from barefoot landing. ( I think thats the name of the restaurant)You cant miss it due to the small number of access points. Its where they launch the few tournaments from every year. If you need any advice on where and how to fish Otisco or want to meet up there, let me know. I will be glad to show you the spots and techniques.

Take rt 481s to rt 81s. Go to exit 15 (LaFayette, rt 20). Take rt 20 west towards Otisco/Skaneateles. You will be on rt 20 for a little while, rt 80 will be about midway. Go down to rt 174 and take a left. This will lead right down to the north end of the lake and will turn into Otisco Valley Rd at the lake as well. Keep going on this road untill you get maybe a couple miles past the south end of the lake and turn right onto Sawmill Rd. It is hard to see and comes up real quick, but there is a large red barn right on the corner at Sawmill Rd. Take Sawmill Rd to the split(less than a mile) and turn right onto W Valley Rd. There are no turnoffs from here....you will see the D.E.C. parking area and the causway maybe 2 miles up...give or take a little. Park on the left side..the road runs along the guardrail.
I have fished here for about 5 years now, and am going to finally try my hand at tigers throught the ice. They take some big ones off the causeway in the winter from the reports I hear every year. Good luck, and if you want some company, let me know...i'm anxious to use my new equipment as much as possible!! contact me at alaskabear69@hotmail.com if you have anymore questions
