During the current cold snap, the fish have gone on hiatus for those not willing to go in search of. Wigglers have been outfishing the waxworms, but the moussies caught the biggest. Tip up action was good in the reeds. Walleye action is slow to none.

We have 12-14 inches of good ice now but a few spring holes here on the north side are making for some slush pockets. Walleyes have been pretty active at dusk with the best bait being sucker minnows. The perch are still few and smaller in size but a couple 14" were had the other day.

The lake finally froze over completely Sunday. There is about 5-6 inches here on the north shore. A few walleyes have been taken on shiners in 4-8 feet of water mainly at dusk. Northern activity hasn't been to prevelant yet, and until the ice gets a little thicker won't be able to get out far enough to check on the perch.

The lake finally froze Sat. Still a small area out about a mile that hasn't iced over yet but it's supposed to be down to 3* tomorrow night. I think I've got a couple spring holes in front of the place cause the snow hasn't stayed there. More later Dave
