Went out to Hess lake Saturday. Was ok fishing in the morning but was not good in the afternoon. There were snowmobiles on the ice most of the afternoon. I think the guys were crazy. By late night the shore was about 6 ft away and the ice lost at least 2 inches of ice. If we knew the ice deterated that much over the day we would of left. Caught two jumbo spec and some 6in gills all on wax worms. Hoping for cold weather.

Hess lake has 6-8 of ice. Fished 11am-7pm. Kept 25 put back 40-50. Had to work for them. Snowmobile and argo on ice.

ICE IS 10" THICK. CRAPPIE HAVE BEEN BITING ON MINNOWS AND WIGGLERS BUT HAVE BEEN ON THE SMALL SIDE: NOTHING OVER 10" YET. PERCH 6-9". A FEW PIKE OVER 30". WINTERFEST IS JAN. 27 IN FRONT OF THE NORTH SHORE BAR. ACTIVITIES FOR KIDS AND ADULTS. SEE YOU THERE.
