OK... Here is the best location that we have found for locating walleys. On the east bay, right out in front of the creek. We fished in 5'-15' of water and never had any bites but did see three nice ones with the camera. We ended up then fishing for crappie and caught 10 nice fish. We are going out again tonight to try again,(same spot). Found that these fish may take some practice to actually catch. We saw the fish come right up to the bait and swim away. We were using small blue and chrome jigging rapalas tipped with a minnow in the tail. Lets hope that maybe tonight we get one thru the hole....

Have gone out twice since my last report. I have only caught two fish... Last Tuesday we went out and had the only two fish caught in the first ten minutes, and did we think that we were going to have a great night. We fished several spots and were unable to locate the fish. The moon was full and the barometric pressure was in the 30's so we were sure to catch em. All the lakes in Southwest Michigan have good ice. Not a lot to add at this point so I think I will let the equipment thaw out and try it again next Sunday.

Hey all: Have Been getting good numbers of crapie, and Northern's in select holes. The ice in southwest lower Michigan is fishable. I still recomend that you spud your way out if you don't see others. We use tear drop glow in the dark jigs tipped with a shiner minow. Fat head minnows do not work. The Pike have been hitting on small blue gills that we catch early on to have good fresh bait. This practice is legal on any species, as long as that species is in season...we checked. Have seen walleye swim by but have not had any success getting them to bite. If you are familiar with this lake, you need to fish the bowl out in front of the public access, or the east end near the fire lane. The best choice would be to find water that is 12-18 feet deep.
Good Luck
