last eason I found one of these units on the ice and gave it a try. I have expercnced all these problems (flag coming off, false hits from lively bait)the only thing Ihavent had a problem with is freeze up cause I havent used it since that day! To me they are more work than they are worth! If any one can give me any tips on how to rig the unit Ill gladly try again but till then I think the homemade tipups are still the best
