I just started using this thing and i wonder if a small bobber in the water would help keep the flag more secure when using heavy bait. Those little notches that hold the flag are pretty sensitive. I don't think a monster pike would feel a little bobber? Any other tips? |

Posted At 12:09:27 03/07/2002 Suspend and old downrigger clip off the frame so that it hangs 4-6" below the spool. Use a scrap of wire. You can set the tension for the size of bait you're using. Offshore-style releases with the rubber pads are ideal. In a pinch, pad the jaws of a small aligator clip with electrical tape, and rig in the same way. Both work flawlessly. Good Luck. |
