Posted At 21:11:11 02/13/2002 for pike, the day is better, they feed mainly by sight and dont have the advantage of "night vision" like walleyes. check some of the other subjects in this tip section and let us know what youre doing so far, so we can help you out. try shallow (5-6ft) bays during the early morning and right before evening. our bite is usually good about 8-10am then 3-5pm. but theres always fish caught in between. if youre not getting results dont be afraid to try something different. move your bait up farther off the bottom or right on it, or move your tip up all together. you can even try using a spoon (swidish pimple, etc.) instead of a treble hook, or put a small spinner blade like those on a walleye harness up about 3 inches from your hook. about hook size, you should use the smallest you can get away with, a #6 round bend treble is a good spot to start. let us know what your set up is, where you fish, depth, bait, etc. and we can work from there. |
