The biggest pike of my life fell to a Polar (27.7#). But I have three MAJOR beefs: 1. Flags come off, as someone mentioned. 2. They're prone to falling down a 10" hole. If a fish steams of at too severe of an angle, the entire rig can be lost. I avoid this by adding two sticks at right angles to the frame. 3. I'm forced to suspend a downrigger clip below the spool to keep large suckers and perch from tripping the flag. The notched portion of the spindle isn't very effective. And they do freeze in pretty badly! |
