Im from Harrisville N.Y and fish a lot of lakes and ive found that putting the minnow just one foot under the ice works best for me . theory, pike eyes are on top of there head when they feed they come off the bottom searching, also the light through the ice whole enhances the minnow. I am a firm beleiver in big minnows.
