Walleyes tend to go through periods of laziness. In order to get these fish to bite you need to fine tune your presentation. Walleyes in this stage don't want to chase their meal so limit the baits range of motion. If you are jigging a spoon than use longer pauses with short quick jiggles. If you are using livebait, trim the minnows tail so it has a harder time swimming. This won't only limit the minnow's movement it will also give it the wounded effect which drives any walleye into striking. |
