Walleyestend to hold transition points such as mud to sand, sand to rock, or weed to sand. Look for transitions that have available forage that fit the present walleyes diet. Walleyes tend to feed on minnows, perch, and even larvae or insects. A lot of ice fishermen neglect the fact that walleyes become lethargic and aren't always looking for a minnow diet. I have caught numerous walleyes on euro larvae and waxies, some of which were my biggest. Walleyes also like to find high oxygen areas. Areas such as inlits of feeder streams or springs tend to draw walleyes. Ice may be thin though.
