Crappies tend to relate in schools. Fish the top of the school to avoid spooking the group. If a fish appears higher up then the group on your flasher, fish for that fish. The higher fish tend to be larger. |

Posted At 02:13:07 01/03/2002 While fishing over a huge school of suspended crappies last year, I tied on 3 jigs in tandem (all the same), specifically Custom Jigs and Spins glow chartreuse finesse tails on 1/80 oz. jigheads - and no bait. I was catching doubles of crappie and/or yellow perch all day working the top of the school. The tandem rig works well with the smallest marmooska jigs and a maggot on each for finicky bluegills too. |

Posted At 07:24:38 01/25/2002 I've tried tis method several times over the years and it always works.... when fish are hugging the bottom i use four bobber stops in between each one I use a quick snap .. holds hook or jigs in place at random depths at bottom of line a brass bullet sinker , glass bead and a barrel swivel ... jigging makes clicking noise attracts fish..... good luck and save some for us who work 40hrs... |
