Ryan I drop the jig to the bottom like you describe but I drop it slow and flicker it all the way down. This makes it look like it is fighting to stay alive and not become sucker breakfast. It should get nailed about three inches from the bottom. This greatly increases your hook setting ability because the fish wont have to pick it up from the bottom. But your fish will only come back if it hasn't felt the hook in it's first attempt. Ross |
