Spooning for Perch

I have found that using small one-inch spoons for perch seem to do the trick on large perch lakes. Spoons attract and trigger fish. I prefer glow colors but shades of perch and baitfish work as well. Tip the spoon with a single euro larvae on each hook. Let the spoon flutter to the ground and then raise it up 6-12 inches. Cameras are helpful for this if you have one. Quick 10 inch snaps followed by jiggles seems to be the most productive process. I have used this approach on lake Mille Lacs and on Leech Lake with great success. One inch spoons helped me catch the biggest perch of my life--14 inches, 2lb 2oz! Good Fishing, Matt.
