2new2ice, Sorry I was'nt more descriptive, here goes. These little bands are approx. like the ones girls use for putting hair up in pony or pig tails only much smaller. To put them on the line you simply half hitch them (fishing line vertical-band horiz. one end of band through the other) this makes it easy even below zero. They are easily adj. up or down this way. It's surgical tubing for sure I THINK it's the stuff they tie on your arm for blood press. ck's they're cut 1mm thick off the end of the tubing (tube apprx.10mm).Now for the tip! Use a round plastic bobber that opens to freeslide down to the lure, BE SURE the bobber sinks from the weight of the lure, not fast but not neutral bouyancy either. This will allow you to detect the larger fish that often hit from underneath (bobber comes up rather than down) or just mouth it bobber stops movement. Of course keep your rod eyes from freezing solid and as much ice off the line as possible, *easy to do when the bobber sinks! and lets you vary depth at the same time, from time to time you will have to change "stops" but with this type some have lasted as long as 3wks.(500 or so fish)also I use regular ultra-lite rods (no large eyes on the rod) and only rarely encounter a problem. hand-over-hand on 30ft. of water's no fun and draws way too much attention!! Tight Lines!, thanks for the reply and good luck!! If 'ya find 'um or make 'um let me know, click on the blue trapperjon at the top of the page to e-mail me! |
