The idea of a tiny scrap of free-moving attractive material added to the lower split ring on a jigging spoon isn't a new one. Baits like the famous Swedish Pimple have come equipped with a tiny, willowleaf-shaped piece of either red or yellow plastic for years. The problem is that despite a bit of added visual appeal, these plastic 'flickers' do little else. Try adding a small willowleaf, Colorado or Indiana spinner blade to the spoons split ring. The steel on steel will send out much crisper vibration, and the contact between the spoon's body, the hook, the splitring and the blade will add sound to the bait. |
