I jig mostly for panfish and perch in particular when I can and prefer light but not whippy rods with ultra light reels and 4# test. I use a spring bobber on the rod to detect the strikes and find the extra stiffness of the rod helps set the hook when fishing deep. As for lures I've had luck with everthing from Swedish pimples and glo in the dark rockers to my all time secret weapon(all right not all that secret)the Rat Finky in assorted sizes and colors, with chartruese being the best all around choice. Good Luck |

Posted At 13:40:36 10/31/2000 I love rat finkys... have used that dark green chartruese size 10 and 12 for years they catch perch crappies but seem best for gills. I like to jig with two rods sometimes.... one is rigged with a vertical teardrop the other with a horizontal finky best of both worlds. Scott |
