I'm sure that most people on here know this already, but for those that don't... A good flasher style sonar will help you not only find fish but determine their mood. The returns are virtually instantaneous (real time) so you can actually see your lure (down to the smallest of jigs) move when you jig it. You can also see fish behavior when you jig the lure. You can see suspended fish and bottom activity. This gives the ice angler a huge advantage over people who don't use a sonar. Many people catch fish jigging without sonar a foot off the bottom, but imagine not missing anything from the bottom to nearly the ice. Why a flasher and not a liquid crystal graph? The flasher is realtime and there is no processsing of information to slow down your decision making. So, for those of you that don't own a flasher, save your money and get one. It would be your most prized possession. You won't regret it. |
