Posted At 23:10:57 02/26/2002 You can build a portable ice shanty for about $30 that fits two people with ease. 2 4x8 pieces of oriented strand board, a light-weight tarp, some staples, duct tape, 5 2x2's and a couple of hinges. To drag it along use an old pair of water skis attached to one side. Using a jigsaw, round off the top of the OS board so they are the same shape, staple and tape the tarp over the ends and cut a door in one side. Attach the hinges for the door. Cut the 2x2's to the width of the shanty to keep it from collapsing. snug them at the bottom, half way up and one at the top. |
