Doug I use these catalytic heaters on a daily basis in Canadian oilfield(Saskatchewan)They are perfectly safe, for the simple fact that their is no actual flame burning(without going into extreme detail and confusing people)yes there is no flame; therfor no oxygen is being used for a flame and no chimney is needed. I have used these heaters in the many ice shacks i have built and sold to locall guys and non of them are dead. Plain and simple they are safe. Besides most shacks are not sealed like a zip lock bag.One thing to think about is your size of shack to size of heater. 6x8 go 10000btu 8x16ft go 20000 to 30000 btu. That should have no problem keeping a shack warm. Hope this sets you at ease. |
