I use a bottom line fishing buddy II (around $200), using 3 rechargeable c-cell batteries. I mount it on an inverted 5 gallon pail with a hole drilled thru the center of the bottom placing it over the fishing hole. I can also use the side finder option marking fish up to 200'out 360 degrees around the hole.
